Lubes are essential for love making whether with a partner or with a toy, as it makes everything smoother and more pleasurable. The things to consider are consistency, ingredients, flavours and whether they are water or silicone based. Water based lubricants are generally for vaginal pleasure. Water based lubes tend to wash off easily, but as a consequence they don't last as long and some can get sticky after a while. Silicone based lubes are harder to wash off, and tend to last much longer and are usually used for booty pleasure or aquatic pursuits. Silicone lubes should not be used directly on silicone toys as it causes them to degrade.
